Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a robbery incident that occurred at the Capitol Hill Poker, Sadog Tasi.

On Monday, August 29, 2011, at about 9:13 am, Police responded to a reported robbery. Upon arrival they met with the victim, a Chinese male who had his hands tied behind his back. It was learned that the victim was the cashier (poker attendant). The victim noticed the suspect enter the poker establishment a few minutes earlier.

The suspect is described as a local male, six feet tall, skinny, and clean shaven. The suspect was playing on one of the poker machines. The suspect called cashier’s assistance to check on a poker machine which was malfunctioning.

The cashier was checking the machine when suddenly the suspect grabbed the cashier’s neck from behind with one arm, and held a knife to the victim’s chest with the other hand. The suspect forced the victim into the cashier booth at knife point. The victim was told to lay face down were the suspect tied the victim’s arms behind his back. The suspect escaped with an undetermined amount of money. The victim somehow was able to contact the Police and report the incident.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at a residence located on Buenas Noches Lane, Dandan.

On Sunday, August 14th, 2010, the victim, a 29 year old local female, arrived home that evening with her husband to discover their home burglarized. Their 32 inch flat screen TV was missing along with a DVD player.

The point of entry was through an empty air conditioning slot. Plywood covering the slot was pried open and taken off. There was a ladder left on the wall outside used to gain entry.

The stolen items are described as a Black 32 inch Samsung Flat screen TV rented from Dial Rent to Own. The DVD player (brand unknown) was purchased from the US ARMY PX. The estimated amount of the stolen items is over $1,000.00.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at Tropical Leisure Sports Inc., a beach concession stand, located behind Hafa Adai Hotel, Garapan.

On Friday, August 12th, 2011, at about 8:00 am, it was discovered that the back door to the concession stand was damaged and forced open. The owner of the company discovered some items missing. The stolen items include 3 spear guns and a Black HP Laptop computer. There is a sticker with the name "Rusty" on the bottom. The amount of the stolen items is estimated to be at over $1,000.00.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at a residence in San Jose Beach.

On Thursday, August 4th, 2011, at about 4:00 am, the victim, a 63 year old local female, awoke to noise coming from the living room. She discovered her living room curtain open and the window screen missing.

The victim checked her home and noticed her laptop missing. It is described as a Black Asus laptop computer with a 14 inch screen. Also missing was the charger for the computer. Police checked the area and discovered a window screen lying on the ground outside the residence. There were foot prints leading towards the beach.

Today marks the 3rd day since CNMI and Federal Law Enforcement agencies launched combined efforts in searching for the missing sisters, Faloma and Maleina Luhk.  On May 27th, 2011, over ninety (90) volunteers worked side-by-side with local and federal agencies going from house-to-house, covering over one-third of the Kagman and As Teo area (Eastern area of Saipan). 

 

The Department of Public Safety’s Police and Fire personnel are being assisted by employees from the Northern Marianas College, the Department of Public Health, the CNMI Legislature, the Criminal Justice Planning Agency, CNMI Board of Parole, the Department of Youth Services, the CNMI Office of Homeland Security, Division of Youth Services, CNMI Customs, Department of Corrections, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), US Marshal Services, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), CNMI Emergency Management Office (EMO), and the Office of the Governor.

 

The call for volunteers to assist the several CNMI and federal law enforcement agencies in conducting the search continues. The Department of Public Safety is calling on volunteers to report to the Kagman Community Center at 7:00 A.M. tomorrow, May 28th, to expand and continue the search.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at a barracks located behind Naked Fish, Garapan.

 

On Monday, April, 29th, 2011, at about 9:00 pm, the victim, a 41 year old Filipina, returned home to her barracks to discover her residence had been broken into and items stolen. The victim left for work at about 4:00 pm. When she returned home, she discovered the crime. 

 

The point of entry to the crime scene was through a hole housing the air conditioning unit which was pushed in and lying on the floor.  A ceramic piggy back was smashed and money stolen.  The room was in disarray.  The items stolen include a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion 14 inch laptop worth about $950.00.  Over a $1,000.00 in cash was taken.

 

The suspect(s) also may be involved in breaking into (2) cars parked outside the barracks.  A Silver 1990 Toyota sedan had its wire battery stolen. The victim a 32 year old Filipina discovered the crime when she attempted to start her car. 

 

The second car, a 1998 Silver Hyundai Sedan, also had damage to the window seal.  It is believed that the suspect(s) attempted to break into the car. The victim, a 32 year old Chinese female discovered the damage. All three victims of the car and residential burglary are co-workers.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at a residence located in Navy Hill. 

 

On Monday, April, 25th, 2011, at about 2:00 pm, the victim(s) returned home to discover their residence had been broken into and items stolen. The victim left the residence at around 12:00 pm that day and was away for only two hours.  The suspect(s) gained entry by jumping a wall and removing the screen from a bedroom window.  The items stolen include two registered firearms and a piggy bank containing an undetermined amount of coins.

 

The registered firearms and stolen items are described as follows:

 

1.      (1) Browning .22 caliber rifle 

2.      (1) Interarm Rifle .22 caliber lever action.

3.      2 boxes of .22 caliber ammunition (50) each. Total 100 rounds.

4.      A clear Bear shaped piggy bank with US coins.

On Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at about 6:30 am, the victim’s awoke to find their 32 inch Sony Flat Screen TV missing.  They discovered the point of entry was through a side window.  The rebar’s protecting the window was bent allowing the suspect(s) of small size to enter the residence.  The front glass sliding door was used as the point of exit.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a car theft incident that occurred at a barracks located behind the Torres Brother’s Law Office in Garapan.

 

On Monday, August 2nd 2010, at about 12:20 a.m. the victim parked his Beige, 2004, Toyota, 4-door Camry license plate number ACH 010 at his usual parking space.  Located on the west of his barracks. After parking his car, the victim walked to Triple 8 Poker located nearby.

 

A few hours later, at about 4:30 am, the victim returned to discover his car missing.  The car has been missing for a few months and the DPS Traffic Section needs your help.  It is possible that the paint color of the stolen car has been changed, and or the car scrapped for parts.

Robbery in Chalan Kanoa

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a robbery incident that occurred at the LF market next to the Silver Hotel, Chalan Kanoa.

 

On Tuesday, April 5th 2011, at about 12:45 p.m., the victim, a 43 years old Chinese male was delivering Tofu when the crime occurred.  The victim was approached by the suspect described as a local male in his early 20’s, about 5’6” tall, medium build, dark hair (tied back), wearing a black tank top and shorts.

 

The suspect was accompanied by two younger, possibly teenage boys.  The suspect approached victim asking to see his wallet. The victim said no and was punched by the suspect. The victim walked into the store and attempted to call the police on his cell phone. The suspect followed the victim into the store, grabbed the cell phone from the victim and broke it. The suspect attacked the victim with a knife stabbing him. During the struggle one of the younger boys pulled the suspect away and all three males escaped fleeing north.

 

The victim received two deep lacerations on his left forearm requiring 31 stitches. The victim’s wallet containing $400.00 and his driver’s license was taken at the crime scene.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary incident that occurred at a residence located just behind Sister Remedios School in Chalan Kanoa District 2.

 

On Friday, March 18th, 2011, at about 8:30 am, the victim Walter Cepeda-Sutherland, the sports reporter for Saipan Tribune, awoke earlier that morning to discover his home was broken into and his personal items stolen. 

 

It was discovered that the point of entry was through a sliding window where the screen was cut open. The suspect(s) stole the victim’s 32-inch Samsung LED TV 6000 series; Xbox 360 with Halo faceplate, two controllers, a 25-foot insulated HDMI cable, and a Batman DVD. The items were estimated to be over $1,200.

 

The incident occurred sometime in the late night to early morning hours.  The victim mentioned that there is usually a group of men seen frequently hanging out near his residence.  This is the third time Burglars struck the victim’s residence in a five-month period.

He is described as a Filipino male age 41, about 5’3 tall, short black hair, 145-155 lbs., no known tattoo and no mustache.   He was seen last Sunday, March 7th, 2011, walking behind San Jose Market. As of this time the Police suspect no foul play but needs assistance in locating this person.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at the Last Command Post, Marpi.

 

On Monday, February 14th, 2011, at about 5:20 pm, a female parked her car (White 1994 Toyota Corolla) at the Last Command Post to go running.  About an hour and a half later, she returned and drove her car to a restaurant in Garapan.  Upon arrival, she opened her trunk to discover her bag and personal items missing.  She checked her car and realized the passenger door was unlocked, and the rear passenger window broken.

 

The victim realized her car was burglarized while it was parked at the Last Command Post.  The items stolen include an Acer Laptop Computer worth $800.00, a black Nokia Cell Phone, a black Droid Eric Cell Phone, a Brown Maui Jim sunglass, a white nano iPod, and a wallet containing id’s, credit cards, along with some clothes.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at Suicide Cliff.

 

On Monday, February 21st, 2011, three Japanese female tourists were taking pictures at Suicide Cliff, Marpi, when their personal items were stolen from a pick up truck parked in the area.  At about 12:00 that afternoon, the 3 victims, along with their tour guide arrived at Suicide Cliff.  They left their bags in the back of the pick up truck unattended for about 10 minutes while they took photographs.  At that time there was only one other person at the site taking pictures with the group.  When they victims returned to the car, they discovered their bags missing from the back of the truck and one from inside the car.

 

There was a Brown Sedan seen pulling out of the parking area when they first arrived on scene.  Police believe that the suspect or suspects may have been hiding in the boonies, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

 

The stolen items include Passports, identification cards, credit cards, an airline ticket, a White Docomo Cell Phone, a White A&U brand cell phone, beach clothing, and over $800.00 in cash.

On Wednesday, February 9th, 2011, at about 2:00 pm, the victim discovered their car, a Blue, 2001 Toyota Echo, 4 door sedan had been broken into, and a laptop stolen.  The car was parked outside the school.  The rear passenger window was broken with a rock and a Red Dell Laptop computer marked with a Black “DC” sticker was stolen from the back seat.  The crime occurred sometime between 9:30 am that morning to 2:00 in the afternoon.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a string of burglary and theft incidents that occurred at our local beaches.

 

On Monday, January, 31st, at about 2:00 pm. a bag was stolen from Ladder beach while a visiting couple was roving the beach.  Inside the bag was $700.00 in cash, an IPod touch, and a Nokia cell phone.  The victims did see a Blue Toyota Tundra pick up truck roaming the area and the occupants’ described as two local males.

 

On Friday, February 4th, at about 12:00 pm, a male tourist was sunbathing at Paupau beach, when he fell asleep.  He awoke to find his black bag containing $150.00 cash and credit card stolen.

 

On Sunday, February 5th, at about 2:30 pm, another visiting couple from the US mainland parked their rental car, (White 2010 Mazda 3 sedan) at Tank Beach.  The couple went for a stroll on the beach. An hour later, they discovered the passenger window smashed, and their personal items stolen.  The items include a Jan sport Back Pack, A pair of Black Binoculars, a Sam Sung Cell Phone, a Pearl Wrist Watch, prescribed sunglasses, and over $200.00 cash.

 

On the same day, Sunday, February 5th, another car was broken into in Kagman, located at the Forbidden Island Parking area.  The victim, a local Japanese male, parked his White Toyota T100, and escorted tourists down to Forbidden Island.  He returned a few hours later to discover his car unable to start because the car battery was stolen.
