Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at Ladder beach.
On Friday, January, 27th, 2011, at about 4:00 in the afternoon, the victim parked a rental van by the top of the stairs. The victim was with some friends and left the van unlocked as they walked downstairs to look at the beach. A few minutes later, they returned to the van and departed the area.
They later discovered their purses missing from the van and realized it was stolen while the van was parked at

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a robbery incident that occurred at the Mountain Fresh Water Company, located in As Teo village.
On Friday, January 21st, 2011, the victim (the business owner), a 54 year old Filipino male, reported to Police that he was robbed by the suspect. The suspect gave the victim a false name and address requesting to have water delivered to the fake address.
During the transaction, the suspect attacked the victim by strangling him. The victim loss conscious only to awake several minutes later to find the suspect attempting to start the victim’s car. The victim escaped to call the Police. When Police arrived the suspect was gone. The victim was robbed of his personal items in his pocket.
The suspect is described as a local male, possibly Chamorro, of average height and skinny build. The suspect was possibly in his late teens, to early 20’s, wearing a beige t-shirt, dark pants, dark short hair, and dark skinned.
The items stolen include a Black Nokia cell phone, a set of keys, and a brown checkered leather wallet containing credit cards, driver’s license and about $100.00 cash.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at an apartment building located in Susupe Village.
On Monday, January, 10th, 2011, the victim’s awoke to discover a handbag missing from the living room. The victim’s are a Korean couple who are business owners with two small children. They last saw the handbag in their living room the night before. Sometime after midnight, while they were asleep in their second story apartment, the suspect(s) entered the room through the balcony sliding door.
In the morning the victim’s awoke to discover the handbag missing and the balcony sliding door open. Inside the stolen Louis Vutton handbag were company checks, a wallet containing a Korean passport, credit cards, and over $15,000.00 in cash.

On Saturday, December 11th, 2010, at about 2:30 pm, the victim discovered several Fishing rods stolen from the vessel. The rod and reel storage compartment was broken into and 3 fishing rods stolen.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at the former KSAI radio station, located in Susupe.
On Monday, November 22nd, 2010, 1997 Red 4 door Toyota Corolla, parked outside the building was opened, and a set of golf clubs stolen from the parked car. The owner was at the time attending a meeting when the golf clubs were stolen. The crime occurred somewhere between 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
The golf clubs are estimated to be valued at over $2,000.00. They include a driver, a set of 9 irons, a putter, and 6 pairs of golf gloves, all in an orange and black walking golf bag with the words “Gold Mountain 2006 Amateur Open” printed on the golf bag.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at the Saipan Industrial Gas Inc., located in Lower Base.
The gas company was burglarized twice last week. The first incident occurred on Wednesday, November 10, and second crime committed the next day, Thursday, November 11, 2010.
The burglaries were committed while the office was closed. The suspect broke into the office either late at night, or during the early morning hours.
The suspect(s) gained entry to the establishment and were able to steal over $ 1,500.00 worth of tools to include a Car Jack, bush cutter, Black & Decker Sander; Black & Decker paint sprayer, a Makita Drill set, some beer, sodas, snacks, and a Black Nokia cell phone.
The next night, suspects broke into Saipan Industrial Gas a second time, stealing a car battery, and an adjustable wrench.

On early Thursday morning, October 21, 2010, thieves smashed the glass door and glass window of the restaurant. This allowed the suspect(s) to gain entry into the gift shop. The cash register was broken into and over $200.00 cash stolen, along with some shirts, and miscellaneous gift items.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at the Medicaid Office, located on Capitol Hill.
On Tuesday, October 26th, 2010, at about 6:30 p.m. the alarm to the Medicaid Office was activated. Police responded and met with an employee from the Medicaid Office. Two air conditioners were stolen from the office. The air conditioners are described as (1) Carrier 12,000 BTU indoor type AC, valued at over $ 250.00. The other unit is described as a Gree 30,000 BTU split window type AC, valued at about $1,100.00. The total value of both air conditioners is estimated to be at over $1,300.00.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a robbery incident that occurred on the beach behind the Saipan Fiesta Resort Hotel, in Garapan. On Saturday night, October 2nd 2010. A 28 year old, Japanese female tourist had her pursed snatched while walking on the beach.
That night, at about 10:15 pm, the victim was with another Japanese female walking on the beach behind the hotel. The suspect described as a local male in his 20’s, about 5’5” tall, dark hair and skin, medium build, wearing red shorts and no shirt.
The suspect approached the two females attempting to talk to them. Both females tried to avoid the suspect but, the suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and a struggle ensued. The suspect escaped with the victim’s purse injuring her thumb. He was last seen running on south towards Makaka beach.
The items stolen include a bag containing over $700.00 cash, a Japanese passport, some credit cards and a cell phone which was recovered later.
Recently, there have been a string of thefts on the beaches of both the Fiesta Resort and Hyatt Regency hotels. The victims are tourists who go for nightly swims leaving their personal belongings on the beach. After taking a swim, the victim’s return to discover their personal effects have been stolen. These crimes against tourist need to end.

SUBJECT: Crime Stoppers tips lead to the arrests of two suspects.
First Tip
Wednesday morning, September 22nd, 2010, Crime Stoppers coordinator, Officer Jason Tarkong received a tip on the Crimes Stoppers Hotline. The tipster reported a suspect was attempting to sell stolen property at the “One Coin Dive Shop” located across beach road from the Department of Public Safety, Susupe. Officer Tarkong immediately sent the Tip to Patrol Officers and the Burglary Task Force.
Police responded and detained three suspects. It was discovered that one of the male suspects was attempting to sell stolen dive equipment. The equipment belonged to another dive shop in Garapan burglarized the day before, September 21, 2010.
The investigation resulted in the recovery of some of the stolen dive equipment on scene and the arrest of a local male suspect, Roland Muna, age 21. Mr. Muna was charged with possession of stolen property. Later, a search warrant was served at another residence in Chalan Piao which yielded over $3,000.00 worth of stolen dive equipment.

On Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010, at about 2:30 pm, the CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force (DETF) consisting of DPS and CNMI customs investigators, served a search warrant at the residence of Joseph Aguon Reyes, age 51, located in the
The operation was the result of a Crime Stoppers tip reporting the Marijuana Growth Operation on Mr. Reyes’s property. The search warrant yielded 8 Marijuana plants abut 6 feet tall. The estimated value of the plants recovered is $2,400.00. The search warrant produced drug paraphernalia and illegal ammunition. Mr. Reyes was charged with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) and Illegal possession of ammunition.

On Friday, September 24, 2010, a burglary was reported at the Motel. Four air conditioners were stolen from four different rooms. The stolen conditioners are described as (1) White Whirlpool 5000 BTU window type, (1) White Carrier 5000 BTU window type, and (2) White Kelvinator 24,000 BTU split type AC’s.
The air conditioners are about 5 years old and in working condition. The point of entry included the removal of the door from the hinges in some of the break-ins, and through a broken window of another. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be at $1,200.00.

On Thursday, September 16, 2010, about 25 meters of Copper Wire was stolen from the generator room located within the barracks. This was the fourth time this type crime occurred at the generator room. It is possible that the same suspect(s) are involved in this case. The day before the crime was discovered, a red pick up truck with three male occupants was seen within the area. The total value of the copper wires stolen is estimated to be at over $2,000.00.
