Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a robbery incident that occurred at the Mountain Fresh Water Company, located in As Teo village.
On Friday, January 21st, 2011, the victim (the business owner), a 54 year old Filipino male, reported to Police that he was robbed by the suspect. The suspect gave the victim a false name and address requesting to have water delivered to the fake address.
During the transaction, the suspect attacked the victim by strangling him. The victim loss conscious only to awake several minutes later to find the suspect attempting to start the victim’s car. The victim escaped to call the Police. When Police arrived the suspect was gone. The victim was robbed of his personal items in his pocket.
The suspect is described as a local male, possibly Chamorro, of average height and skinny build. The suspect was possibly in his late teens, to early 20’s, wearing a beige t-shirt, dark pants, dark short hair, and dark skinned.
The items stolen include a Black Nokia cell phone, a set of keys, and a brown checkered leather wallet containing credit cards, driver’s license and about $100.00 cash.

Sometime after midnight, while they were asleep in their second story apartment, the suspect(s) entered the room through the balcony sliding door.

On Monday, November 22nd, 2010, 1997 Red 4 door Toyota Corolla, parked outside the building was opened, and a set of golf clubs stolen from the parked car. The owner was at the time attending a meeting when the golf clubs were stolen. The crime occurred somewhere between 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
The golf clubs are estimated to be valued at over $2,000.00. They include a driver, a set of 9 irons, a putter, and 6 pairs of golf gloves, all in an orange and black walking golf bag with the words “Gold Mountain 2006 Amateur Open” printed on the golf bag.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a burglary and theft incident that occurred at the Saipan Industrial Gas Inc., located in Lower Base.
The gas company was burglarized twice last week. The first incident occurred on Wednesday, November 10, and second crime committed the next day, Thursday, November 11, 2010.
The burglaries were committed while the office was closed. The suspect broke into the office either late at night, or during the early morning hours.
The suspect(s) gained entry to the establishment and were able to steal over $ 1,500.00 worth of tools to include a Car Jack, bush cutter, Black & Decker Sander; Black & Decker paint sprayer, a Makita Drill set, some beer, sodas, snacks, and a Black Nokia cell phone.
The next night, suspects broke into Saipan Industrial Gas a second time, stealing a car battery, and an adjustable wrench.

On Tuesday, October 26th, 2010, at about 6:30 p.m. the alarm to the Medicaid Office was activated. Police responded and met with an employee from the Medicaid Office. Two air conditioners were stolen from the office. The air conditioners are described as (1) Carrier 12,000 BTU indoor type AC, valued at over $ 250.00. The other unit is described as a Gree 30,000 BTU split window type AC, valued at about $1,100.00. The total value of both air conditioners is estimated to be at over $1,300.00.

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community’s assistance for information on a robbery incident that occurred on the beach behind the Saipan Fiesta Resort Hotel, in Garapan. On Saturday night, October 2nd 2010. A 28 year old, Japanese female tourist had her pursed snatched while walking on the beach.
That night, at about 10:15 pm, the victim was with another Japanese female walking on the beach behind the hotel. The suspect described as a local male in his 20’s, about 5’5” tall, dark hair and skin, medium build, wearing red shorts and no shirt.
The suspect approached the two females attempting to talk to them. Both females tried to avoid the suspect but, the suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and a struggle ensued. The suspect escaped with the victim’s purse injuring her thumb. He was last seen running on south towards Makaka beach.
The items stolen include a bag containing over $700.00 cash, a Japanese passport, some credit cards and a cell phone which was recovered later.
Recently, there have been a string of thefts on the beaches of both the Fiesta Resort and Hyatt Regency hotels. The victims are tourists who go for nightly swims leaving their personal belongings on the beach. After taking a swim, the victim’s return to discover their personal effects have been stolen. These crimes against tourist need to end.

SUBJECT: Crime Stoppers tips lead to the arrests of two suspects.
First Tip
Wednesday morning, September 22nd, 2010, Crime Stoppers coordinator, Officer Jason Tarkong received a tip on the Crimes Stoppers Hotline. The tipster reported a suspect was attempting to sell stolen property at the “One Coin Dive Shop” located across beach road from the Department of Public Safety, Susupe. Officer Tarkong immediately sent the Tip to Patrol Officers and the Burglary Task Force.
Police responded and detained three suspects. It was discovered that one of the male suspects was attempting to sell stolen dive equipment. The equipment belonged to another dive shop in Garapan burglarized the day before, September 21, 2010.
The investigation resulted in the recovery of some of the stolen dive equipment on scene and the arrest of a local male suspect, Roland Muna, age 21. Mr. Muna was charged with possession of stolen property. Later, a search warrant was served at another residence in Chalan Piao which yielded over $3,000.00 worth of stolen dive equipment.
